- Born in Dublin Ireland Dr Robert L O’Dwyer went to medical school in Cork and graduated in 1978. After 6 years of post graduate training in Internal Medicine, including residency’s in ICU and Oncology/ Bone-marrow transplantation (was on the team that performed the first bone-marrow transplants in Ireland), Dr. O’Dwyer went to Bahrain for 4 years as a specialist in Internal Medicine. In 1988 he returned to Ireland and did a further 4 years post graduate study in Gastroenterology and Respiratory medicine. In 1992 Dr. O’Dwyer moved to Canada initially in Dawson Creek and is now resident in Port Alberni, BC. Apart from doing clinical work in Internal medicine and the ICU he is also the director of the local Diabetes Education Center.
